Nelson Mendela

The World Lost a great figure last week, Nelson Mandela. He was 95. A freedom fighter, now granted the ultimate freedom.
Nelson Mandela was the first in his family to attend school. Instead of taking his father's place as chief of his tribe, he studied law. He helped create ANCYL, a non-violent group of protesters against unfair and unjust policies for blacks. He would later on change his position to armed protesting. He was sentenced for 5 years in prison for a strike, but ended up wasting 27. He was sentenced for life, and barely escaped the death sentence. On may tenth, 1994, he was sworn in as the first Black south African President.
But the world is truly missing his vision of good in others. His jailer became his best friend. When he was president, at a meeting I believe, he shook everyone's hand, but hugged the jailer saying, "He was my jailer, but he is my best friend."
Long live Rolihlahla, the trouble maker. Long live Dalibhunga, the one who passed the trials, Long live Mediba, the freedom fighter, And Long Live Nelson Mandela, King, of South Africa.
